5) Abstract for article 2
'This article explores girls’ learning about issues of femininity that takes place in the presence of others online, connected through chat rooms, instant messaging, and role-playing games.' (Kelly, D et al :3) The article explores the 'interviews with 16 girls in Vancouver, Canada' (3) (when they say girls they means girls that are of a schooling age) and again explores how they 'experiment' with themselves and their identities online. Numerous things were found out about these girls, how some experimented with their identity online which would have been taboo in the 'real world', and some even took the time to 'attack' male identities online and take a strong role in true feminism. In addition, the article enters in the discussion as to why these girls have certain profile names.
