2) The 'digital divide'

a) This 'digital divide' between the two, 'digital immigrants' and 'digital natives' can prove to be quite a significant divide in relation to socioeconomically issues within society. If we take Prensky's generalising view of the two within this 'divide' and in addition also take Wenger's notion of cop's this could create an issue to such organisations such as online, virtual communities. In a previous blog, i discussed Blanchard and his reasons as to why he believed virtual communities were important (http://hannahbellv.blogspot.com/2009/02/topic-1-blanchard-and-communities.html) however if you take Prensky's generalisation of this 'digital divide' how can a community come together and educate each other if such 'digital immigrants' find it difficult to access and interact via a virtual community? How would this them help the social community progress economically?
